e-Kannada is a project of Center for e-Governance, which comes under the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (e-Governance), Government of Karnataka. The project aims at preparing an outline of standards for technology related to the Kannada language and also the efforts being made to preserve and develop the Kannada language in the field of technology.In the context of increasing the use of Kannada language in the current digital age, 'E-Kannada' is a platform that provides information on Kannada knowledge and technology. As a part of this project "Padakanaja" website has been launched to make Kannada dictionaries available for public use.How is it helpful?In Padakanaja website, Citizens can find Kannada words mainly used in the administrative sector or English word translations. Also words used in everyday activities can also be found along with their meaning.What are the available information?219092 unique Kannada words and 120395 unique English words can be observed in this portal. Here meaning of the word, kannada pronunciation and english translations will be given. If the word you searched is not available, or if in case you already know the glossary of that word, then you can add that word in the dictionary. Enter your word and click on search and then click on the option ‘Click to add new word’. Here you can fill in the details like, meaning, grammar specification, subject classification, vocabulary, language source and other information and save your action.How to find out the meaning of the word?
