Vision / Description

e-Office is a mission mode project within the Government of India's e-Governance programs. The National Information Centre has developed "e-Office" software for this project.

The main vision of this e-Office project is to achieve transparency, efficiency and effective governance at the government level by providing an electronic form for office functions. An e-Office is a recycling system that combines all the freelance work into one framework. It helps to improve efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of government responses, reduce processing delays and to establish transparency and accountability.

Description : The e-Office project is part of the Karnataka Government Staff, Citizens, National Informatics Centre, and e-Governance Centre. The e-governance centre in the state is implementing "e-office" as a project. e-office can be implemented for the knowledge of the process and status of files at all times, accountability and speed of decision making, transparency in government policy and policy, and delays can be avoided. Achievements
  • e office application hosted in State Data centre
  • Increased the KSWAN bandwidth of targeted office to 10 Mbps
  • Required desktop and high-end scanners procured and installed
  • Facility to provide DSC put in place
  • NIC email created for every employee centrally
  • VPN connection given to all officers above Deputy Secretary
  • Manual in Kannada Language created and made available
  • Video content in Kannada Language available
  • Support: Help Line (landline telephone and email) in place
  • Ticketing tool being put in place
  • Intense and time-bound Capacity Building
  • Taking employees association into confidence
  • Strong and Proactive Support system
  • Collaborative Exercise with employees and support team
  • Chief Secretary's monthly review undertaken
  • Additional Chief Secretaries weekly coordination meeting with NIC, SDC and implementation team
  • Government order - enforcing all correspondence originated in offices to be in Digital format only
